THE INDIAN PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY, one of its kind in Online, was founded to "Promote the Arts and Sciences of Photography". With one common motto that this Society would be dedicated to the quest of developing and promoting the medium of photography as an art form. INDIAN PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY was established to bring together photographers of all genre including wildlife, nature, landscape, architectural, macro and street. Here, the true concept of photography as an art form is not only taken as an exposure but practiced as a religion.

The Aim of INDIAN PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY (IPS) is to provide a platform for the Amateur Photographers to learn, experiment, create, teach, share, compete or simply show off their photographic mettle at The Society fondly known as The IPS is a worldwide organization providing a wide range of services that promotes photography and benefits its members. Individual members can participate in competitions, study groups and on-line education programs designed for the basic to advance photographic knowledge and skill. Competitions are also held for it’s members. Member image galleries are always available for viewing. An annual youth photography showcase that is open to all students of high school age is conducted. Opportunities for image analysis and critique as well as knowledge for both hardware and software of photography are available for all members.  In addition to special access to a Member's Only area on this dynamic and informative website.
IPS has as its members, some of the finest photographers of India who are willing to share their tips and experiences and promote this art. IPS creates an opportunity for learning, exchange of ideas, appreciation of the art, exposition of the science. IPS provides the perfect platform to learn and practice photography as a hobby, passion or profession. In fact, the generous contributions in terms of time, money, effort, and most importantly, ideas and knowledge from a long line-up of giants of Indian Photography have kept this quest alive, well and flourishing. The Managing Committee of the IPS has taken great pains to keep alive the tradition of sharing of knowledge and ideas. In fact, one of the best opportunities for budding photographers at IPS is the invaluable guidance and mentoring that they continually receive from senior members.
